Ingredients

  • Greek Yogurt Hung Curd: 1 cup (Plain & Unsweetened)
  • Cucumber: 1/2 cup Finely grated and water squeezed out
  • Fresh Mint Leaves: 2 tbsp Finely chopped
  • Garlic: 1 small clove Minced/Crushed
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper: 1/4 tsp Crushed
  • Roasted Cumin Powder Jeera: 1/4 tsp
  • Salt: To taste
  • Olive Oil: 1 tsp Optional garnish

Method

  1. Prep the Cucumber: Grate the fresh cucumber using a fine grater. Squeeze the grated cucumber tightly with your hands or a muslin cloth to remove all excess water. (This prevents the dip from becoming watery).
  2. Whisk the Yogurt: In a medium mixing bowl, add the thick Greek yogurt. Whisk it gently until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the squeezed grated cucumber, finely chopped fresh mint leaves, and minced garlic to the yogurt.
  4. Seasoning: Stir in the roasted cumin powder, crushed black pepper, and salt. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  5. The Tangy Twist: Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice and give it one final gentle mix.
  6. Garnish & Chill: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil and top with a fresh mint sprig for a professional look.
  7. Serve: For the best flavor, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 10–15 minutes before serving with your favorite Iftar snacks.

Notes

Pro-Tip : If you don't have Greek yogurt, simply hang regular curd in a muslin cloth for 2 hours to remove water and get thick creamy yogurt!
Storage Note: This dip stays fresh in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
Pairing Idea: Suggest serving this with the Air-Fried Veggie Cutlets we discussed earlier to create a complete "Weight Loss Iftar" experience.
